As a bride-to-be, I would not recommend this book. This “guide” is more like a pamphlet than a thoughtful gift given from mother to daughter. The information within the book is so general that it is more like common sense than advice.

Oh, yeah, was this book just a string of common sense tidbits. Don’t lock your knees is the mantra throughout the book. I recommend Robinson’s Dear Son book for the Groom, but this one is horrible. She writes that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and to make special meals for your husband. How offensive. This woman obviously ‘catered’ to her husband and her four sons. My fiance is the one who will be cooking and I take offense to Robinson mentioning that I should be the doing it. Go back to the 50s. However, it is because of her experience with her four sons that the Dear Son book is wonderful.
